William Shakespeare (1564–1616) was a glover’s son from Stratford-upon-Avon who became the greatest writer in the English language. In London he acted, co-owned the Globe Theatre, and wrote about thirty-seven plays and 154 sonnets, including Hamlet, Macbeth, and Romeo and Juliet, coining words we still use today. He retired to Stratford and died there in 1616, leaving his private life almost entirely a mystery. #history #williamshakespeare #cosminacreates
