Kīlauea’s summit eruption remains paused, but signs of activity continue. USGS geologists observed spattering lava surfaces deep within both the north and south vents in Halemaʻumaʻu during an overflight this morning. Webcam imagery also showed glow and weak spattering overnight. Ground inflation patterns since the end of Episode 37 on November 25 suggest that another lava-fountaining episode is likely between December 5–9.
