Every time I revisit these verses in Surah Ar-Rahman especially during this final year of med school and interviews, it feels like Allah is telling me to breathe again. To remember what matters. To recognize that gratitude isn’t and shouldn’t be dependent on our mood, it’s more like a muscle you train by repeatedly being grateful. To Allah, to our families and loved ones, and to strangers and all. May Allah make our hearts softer, our gratitude deeper, and our connection to the Quran consistent.
