I had a blast at Lake Mineral Wells State Park (@lakemineralwells). I hadn’t done much research going in and assumed it was going to just be a fishing lake without much else to offer. Turns out it’s exactly the kind of park I love. Tons of massive boulders, cliffs and crevices. Big rock steps. Plenty of trees to climb. Hopping around the rocks at these types of places is my adult Discovery Zone. Lake Mineral Wells and specifically the Penitentiary Hollow area has my full recommendation 👕🧢: @th

Shout out to Lake Mineral Wells State Park & Trailway - my winner for one of the nicest camping bathroom facilities! (Yes - this is really how I judge all camping locations - haha) Also the hiking and kayaking was fabulous! Two take aways from our Girl Scouts camping trip - First the kayaking... (one of my favorite things to do.) We had 13 girls on this trip... many were a little nervous about kayaking... some a lot.... but in the end all 13 were loving it! Now that is a BIG WIN WIN in my eyes!
