INDIANAPOLIS -- Josef Newgarden beat teammate Will Power in the finals of the Indianapolis 500 pit-stop challenge on Friday, giving the whole of Team Penske something to feel good about after a trying week leading up to “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

Josef Newgarden wouldn’t say much about the drama surrounding his attempt at a third consecutive Indianapolis 500 victory, as Newgarden and teammate Will Power attempt to rally from the rear of the field on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

IndyCar penalized Team Penske for issues with their cars. Two-time defending Indy 500 winner Josef Newgarden and Will Power will start at the back of the 33-car field.
