The Miami Dolphins ' first preseason game of 2025 ended in a 24-24 tie with the Chicago Bears. While that's an unsatisfying end to most games, the final result Sunday didn't matter nearly as much as the performances of players fighting for spots on the Dolphins' roster.

With Case Keenum in to replace Bagent at quarterback, the 37-year-old led the Bears into the red zone. The Dolphins defense then came alive, stopping the Bears at the goal line thanks to run stops by defensive tackle Matt Dickerson, inside linebacker Dequan Jackson and McLendon.

Playing in a preseason opener for the first time since 2021, Tagovailoa completed 5 of 6 for 27 yards in a 15-play drive against Bears backups, but the Dolphins failed to score on their first drive because of a Bears goal-line stand.
