The Commanders and the District of Columbia announced an agreement for the Commanders to build a stadium at the site that the franchise once called home.

The Washington Commanders are hoping to be coming home to the District and the hallowed grounds where they played from 1961 to 1996.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell acknowledged that a new, state-of-the-art Commanders stadium in Washington would drastically increase the chances of the U.S. capital hosting the Super Bowl for the first time.

Growing up in the Washington area, Josh Harris cherished his chances once or twice a year to watch his favorite football team play at RFK Stadium, the home during the glory days when the likes of Joe Theismann and John Riggins made the stands shake on the way to three Super Bowl championships.
