Accused assassin Vance Boelter now faces the possibility of life in state prison alongside a possible federal death sentence after a Hennepin County jury indicted him on premeditated murder and other counts Thursday for allegedly carrying out a politically motivated rampage in June.

A Minnesota man accused of killing State House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, Vance Boelter, was indicted on Thursday by a grand jury on eight charges, including two counts of first-degree murder.

A grand jury has handed down state charges against Vance Boelter, the man accused in the deadly attack that killed Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, and injured Senator John Hoffman and his wife.
