LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A snow leopard known for educating guests about animals with special needs at the Louisville Zoo has died. Kimti was euthanized at the age of 14 years old.

Kimti, a 14-year-old snow leopard at the Louisville Zoo, has died, zoo officials announced June 11, 2025. Kimti was born with a condition known as coloboma, which effects both humans and animals.

The Louisville Zoo recently announced the death of 14-year-old snow leopard, Kimti, after he was "humanly euthanize" when his advanced illness and aging caused hip dysplasia and arthritis.
