Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” and Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” dominated the U.K. and Ireland box office in May, driving the market to a robust £109.1 million ($147.7 million) total that represents a 50% increase over the same period last year, according to Comscore.

The Disney live-action remake scored another $176.1 million globally for a worldwide take of $610.8 million so far.

Disney's "Lilo & Stitch" jumped to the top of the holiday box office, grossing $183 million in the U.S. alone. Meanwhile, "Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning" set a franchise record for Paramount and was in second place with $77 million.
