The Star Trek: Strange New Worlds creative team revealed at San Diego Comic Con that they plan to wrap things up with season 5 — but that doesn’t mean they want to stop telling Star Trek stories. In fact, they “100 percent” have a dream plan to work on a spinoff series that centers on the first year as captain for Paul Wesley’s James T. Kirk.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds focuses on the years before James Kirk was captain of the Enterprise, with Anson Mount ‘s Christopher Pike at the helm. Paul Wesley recurs as Kirk, now a first officer who occasionally crosses paths with the Enterprise crew. He has also played versions of Kirk in alternate timelines.

In “Amy Bradley Is Missing,” Detweiler said that he remembered Amy’s cruise “very well.” The ship took off in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and made stops in Aruba, Curaçao, St. Maarten, and St. Thomas. Amy’s family noticed she was missing as the ship approached the dock in Curaçao.
