After years as a Minnesota mainstay and leader of the state's major Democratic wing, Martin will head a party in flux after a 2024 defeat as it works to drum up a unified strategy to combat President Donald Trump's agenda.

WASHINGTON, DC – Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party Chair Ken Martin has been elected as the new leader of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), securing 246.5 out of 428 votes. He defeated Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair Ben Wikler, who garnered 134.5 votes, and former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, who received 44 votes.
