The NBA's Feb. 6 trade deadline is bearing down on the Golden State Warriors, who are, as usual, in an array of conversations regarding multiple potential deals to bolster their chances of what might be a last hurrah playoff run in the Stephen Curry era.

According to NBA reporters Anthony Slater and Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic, Zach LaVine is viewed by some within the Golden State Warriors as a “safer option” than Jimmy Butler. Butler has requested a trade from the Miami Heat.

The Warriors have been rumored to be back in trying to acquire Jimmy Butler, but they are also looking at Zach LaVine.

As the clock ticks toward the deadline, the Warriors have floated a protected first-rounder as a sweetener in potential deals.
