Ex-Mets GM: Here’s Pete Alonso’s exclusive offer to stay in New York
Last month, former Mets infielder-turned-MLB insider Carlos Baerga reported that New York had extended an offer to the 30-year-old slugger. According to Baerga, “Alonso is expected to sign soon,” per a translation of his Spanish tweet, but the offer seemingly will come closer to the Mets’ desires: shorter-term, higher average annual value.
Pete Alonso would be a fascinating addition for the Boston Red Sox, but one MLB insider believes a signing is unlikely.
