After one round of action at the 2025 Cognizant Classic, Jake Knapp is sitting on a score that would be low enough to win this tournament most years. Through 18 holes, however, it is clear that this year at PGA National is nothing like those in the past.

So, for the first time since Spieth's junior days in 2009, the start of the PGA Tour's Florida swing at PGA National is on his calendar. Spieth will play the course this week for the first time as a pro, after a last-minute decision to enter the Cognizant Classic.

Also in the Cognizant field are three top-20 players in the world – Russell Henley (17), Sepp Straka (18) and Shane Lowry (19) – and amateur Luke Clanton, who is a made cut away from a PGA Tour card and playing on a sponsor invite.
