The U.S. State Department fired more than 1,300 employees Friday, the latest DOGE effort to shrink the size of the federal government.
Of the more than 1,300 employees whose jobs could be affected by the Supreme Court ruling, about 1,000 are represented by the American Federation of Government Employees union.
