President Trump is talking with Sen. Josh Hawley and other senators about the contents of a bill to ban stock trades by elected officials.

President Donald Trump has lashed out at Sen. Josh Hawley after the Republican’s proposal to ban stock trading by members of Congress — and the president and vice president — advanced in a committee vote.

Earlier in the day, Trump had posted on Truth Social and attacked the Missouri Republican for his legislation that would ban stock trading among lawmakers as well as the president and vice president, and for not supporting a measure by Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) that would review former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s stock trading.
