Sonia Citron led the Washington Mystics to an 88-84 victory over the Indiana Fever on Friday evening. Citron had 21 points, three rebounds and two assists in the victory. The rookie went 6-of-13 from the field, including 3-for-5 from 3-point range. She also made all six of her free throw attempts.
Both teams trade buckets at the end of shot clock. Makayla Timpson seemingly beat the buzzer for Indiana and then Sonia Citron hit a shot fading away with Lexie Hull right in her face as the shot clock expires. Mystics were up 71-68.
The Fever fell to 18-16 after the Mystics loss and have slipped to seventh in the WNBA. They will get a chance to get back to winning ways when they return to action on Sunday in a road game against the league-worst Connecticut Sun.
