The City of Syracuse Auditor, Alexander Marion, and the Chief of the Fire Department, Michael Monds, have condemned President Donald Trump's announcement to eliminate the Federal Emergency Management Agency,

President Trump says he wants to phase out FEMA and shift the burden to states, but many states don’t have the resources to manage disasters on their own, experts warn.

The president said states need to bear the costs of their own recovery and if a state's governor can't do so, "then maybe they shouldn’t be governor.”
