Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL) announced Tuesday she is launching a campaign to replace Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) after he revealed last month he would not seek reelection to his Illinois Senate seat.

U.S. Rep. Robin Kelly announced her candidacy in a video, less than two weeks after Sen Dick Durbin announced he wouldn’t be seeking reelection for a sixth term. Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton announced her bid a day later.

Kelly joins Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton, who jumped into the contest last month and has been endorsed by Sen. Tammy Duckworth and Gov. JB Pritzker. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi is also expected to announce his bid, and Rep. Lauren Underwood continues to eye the seat.
