CommScope has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) segment to Amphenol Corporation for approximately USD $10.5 billion in cash, to be paid by Amphenol upon closing.

Amphenol on Monday entered a $10.5 billion deal to buy CommScope's connectivity and cable solutions unit, the largest purchase by the fibre-optic cable maker that would make it a key player in the market for U.

If an Amphenol-CommScope deal sounds familiar, that's because this is the second such deal that Amphenol has pursued in the past year.
