In a statement, McGloin cites family reasons for leaving his position as an offensive analyst for Bill O'Brien.

Matt McGloin accepted Bill O’Brien’s offer to become an offensive analyst at Boston College, and everything seemed fine with the transition. Two days later, McGloin resigned and headed back to Scranton.

McGloin, 35, was elected to the Lackawanna (Pa.) County Board of Commissioners in November of 2023. He earned his term in January last year but resigned last week, likely to start his job with the Eagles. With McGloin's family located in Pennsylvania, it could have been that it was not the right time for McGloin to be in Boston.
