SpaceX has quietly axed a "regional savings" discount for Starlink users in certain US states months after it began offering the deal, which cut the price by $100+.

SpaceX’s Starlink has slashed prices in some US states for new subscribers to its broadband-by-satellite service. The normal upfront joining fee for the Starlink kit has been $599 (€552.2m) in the US.

The $299 price has also been rolling out to third-party retailers, including Walmart, Best Buy, and Target, enabling buyers to pick up a Starlink dish from a local store or have it shipped.
