Tuesday it had reached a deal to acquire Norwood-based Paycor for $4.1 billion, leaving question marks about what would happen with the naming rights deal and plans to move into the revamped Saks department store building.

On Tuesday, Rochester-based Paychex announced it would acquire the Norwood human resources software company in a deal expected to close in the first half of 2025. In 2022, Paycor inked a 16-year deal to affix its name to the stadium for an undisclosed sum. Recent regulatory filings indicate the contract was worth $67 million.

Paycor will maintain its Cincinnati headquarters move. The company will also keep its Bengals stadium naming rights agreement.

Paycor paid the Cincinnati Bengals $66.7 million for the naming rights to the Hamilton County-owned stadium the team plays in at the Banks, according to a 2024 Securities and Exchange Commission filing by the company.

When the Bengals first announced the 16-year deal in 2022, it refused to say how much it got. But recent Paycor disclosures reveal the cost.

Cincinnati-based Paycor, the company that owns the naming rights to the stadium where the Cincinnati Bengals play, has entered a definitive agreement to be acquired by another company in a deal estimated to be $4 billion.
