A wildfire burning in New Jersey's Wharton State Forest, named the Mines Spung Wildfire, has burned to about 5,750 acres as of Sunday, June 15.

Roughly 40 firefighters were sent into the state forest to try to control the wildfire. Crews are now in the process of building containment lines to keep it from burning further.

The Mines Spung wildfire inside Wharton State Forest in Shamong Township is around 80% contained but is still threatening some structures, according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service.
