Sepp Straka went from a four-shot lead early Saturday to trailing by two, but a furious rally allowed him to regain the lead in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

The weather brought back romantic images of the old “Crosby Clambake,” with a cold wind whipping off the Pacific Ocean and light rain, generally miserable weather for golf except at Pebble Beach — at least for those watching.

Am, and heading into the final round on the Monterey Peninsula, it is perhaps the biggest in the field who is just out sharing the lead. Rory McIlroy was simply brilliant Saturday in the cold and blustery conditions as he navigated Pebble Beach Golf Links in bogey-free fashion en route to a 7-under 65 to sit one stroke behind 54-hole leader Sepp Straka at 16 under.

Scheffler, in a 2025 debut delayed by minor surgery on his right hand for a freak puncture wound while making ravioli, ran off three straight birdies, including a shot to 2 feet on the tough eighth hole. That was the last of his birdies, but it was the par that saved him.

Straka recovered from a rough stretch on the back nine to finish strong for a two-under 70 on a windy, rainy Feb 1 and hold the lead after three rounds at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach, California. Straka is at 16 under and will take a one-stroke lead into Feb 2 (Feb 3, Singapore time).

Straka fired a second straight 7-under 65, this time at Pebble Beach Golf Links, to take a three-shot lead. Straka benefitted from about 14 holes in little to no wind, while other challengers, including Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler, teed off later and spent more time in the tougher conditions.
