While many on the PGA Tour have raised eyebrows this week following Rory McIlroy's decision to skip the first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs at the St. Jude Championship, one player director on the Tour board isn't sounding the alarm on protocol changes.

After a challenging stretch, Rory McIlroy seemed to find his rhythm again during the Scottish Open and The Open Championship, looking far more settled on the course. He reached the summit in April by winning The Masters and completing the Career Grand Slam.

Rory McIlroy decided to miss the tournament in Memphis this season, more precisely, he will not be part of the opening playoff event.
