GREENVILLE, Mississippi — A Mississippi city has declared a state of emergency following the death of a Baylor football player. Redshirt freshman Alex Foster, a Baylor Bears defensive lineman, was found dead Wednesday morning in his hometown of Greenville, Mississippi.

A former Mississippi high school football standout and Baylor University player died in a mid-week shooting in Greenville.

Details have not yet been released, but Foster is the most recent of a string of shootings in Greenville over the last few weeks.

Baylor is mourning the tragic passing of a defensive lineman out of Mississippi. He was a redshirt freshman in the program.
