Zach Root, a transfer from East Carolina, has been a key pitcher for Arkansas's baseball team. Root had a successful high school career at Fort Myers High, winning Southwest Florida Baseball Player of the Year in 2022. Arkansas was looking for an ace in its quest for its first College World Series title.
