This garden was just amazing! It was a great walk with so many lovely plants and tropical settings. The price of admission is well worth your time!Full review by Lmhall10

Stunning morning immersed in the beaty of Hawaii. Must stop on your drive up the Hamakua Coast! Be sure to grab an ice pop on your way out to cool down!Full review by RachelJeanMpls

This is a hidden gem about 20 minutes from Hilo. We've been several times on our visits to the Big Island and love the safe, paved pathways that allow everyone to go deep into the native Hawaiian raiā¦Full review by GrantWalsh

Is it easy to get a taxi from the cruise port to the gardens and more importantly to get a Taxi Back?

We drove from Kona and stayed overnight in Hilo, then drove to the gardens. Lots to do in Hilo as well. Well worth whatever method you use to get there.
Which is better, this garden or the World Botanical Garden which is a,few miles away?

We have only been to the Hawaii Tropical Garden so can't compare it to the World Botanical Garden. What I can tell you is that we absolutely loved the HTG and spent far more time there than we expected because it was so beautiful and there was so much to see. It's also interesting that we never even heard of the WBG. We talked to many locals on our trip and everyone unanimously recommended the HTG as a must see and so we decided to go. We were not disappointed at all.
